1 box puff pastry thawed
8 oz soften cream cheese
1/4 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c guava paste sliced think
1 egg lightly beaten
1/3 c corn syrup slightly warmed
1/3 c granulated sugar | for sprinkling on top |
instructions
preheat oven to 375°. And line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
on a clean surface, unroll the puff pastry sheets, working with one at a time. cutting the sheet into 9 equal-size squares.
in a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar and the vanilla extract together until smooth. add the cream cheese in the center of half the square and 2 slices of the guava paste.
brush the edges of the pastry square with the eggs wash to seal the pastry. crimp the edges with a fork.
place the pastries on the baking sheets, brush the tops of the pastry with the egg wash and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and puffy. remove from the oven and brush on the corn syrup.
sprinkle with the a little sugar and enjoy ☺️
