chorizo gravy and honey garlic biscuits is a fun latin twist on the southern breakfast classic.
a creamy gravy thats packed full of flavor and heat, served over on a warm, sweet, fluffy biscuit.
ingredients
chorizo gravy
1 lb ground chorizo sausage
1 serrano peppers diced, seeds and stem
removed
1/2 medium white onion, finely diced
1/4 c flour
2 1/2 c half and half
2 tspkosher salt
1 tsp black pepper
hand full of cilantro for garnish
honey garlic butter biscuits
8 cooked jumbo biscuits (pillsbury biscuits and cooked according to package directions)
4 tbs butter
2 tbs honey
2 tbs mashed garlic
instructions
chorizo gravy
place a large pan or skillet over medium heat, add the chorizo sausage, diced onions and diced serrano. cook for 10 minutes, making sure to breaking the sausage apart with a spoon.
add the flour, a little at a time, stirring until combined. gradually add more flour and stir.
add the half and half, kosher salt, and pepper and bring to a boil, thenreduce the heat to low. stir occasionally for 10 minutes or until preferred thickness.
serve over the biscuits and garnish with cilantro.
honey garlic butter biscuits
while the biscuits bake, prepare the glaze.
mix together butter, garlic and honey in a small saucepan. heat until the butter melts, and mix together.
after biscuits are baked, brush on an easy honey-butter glaze. serve chorizo gravy over the biscuits, garnish with cilantro and enjoy 😊.
