Who doesn’t love pizza? It’s a timeless favorite that satisfies our cravings and brings people together. Today, we have a fantastic recipe for French bread pizza that takes this classic dish to a whole new level. With a homemade sauce and the option to add your favorite toppings, this recipe is a winner for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
1 French baguette
1 c shredded mozzarella cheese
1 c shredded smoked mozzarella cheese
1/2 c pizza sauce
Toppings of your choice

1 can crushed tomatoes
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 grated small onion
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Start by making the homemade pizza sauce. In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, chili flakes, salt, and pepper to the saucepan. Stir well to combine. Add bay leaf, and a immer the sauce for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
While the sauce is simmering, slice the French baguette in half lengthwise. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
Spread the homemade pizza sauce evenly over the bread halves. Be generous with the sauce!
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, covering the bread completely. Add your desired toppings on top of the cheese.
Place the baking sheet with the prepared French bread pizzas in the preheated oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is crispy.
