if you've been craving korean bbq, this sweet and spicy korean beef is your answer. it's all the flavors of your favorite korean bbq but in the comfort of own kitchen and a fraction of the cost.
ingredients
2-3lb boneless beef chuck roast cut into 1-inch cubes | ground beef works too |
1 asian pear, puréed | optional |
2 tbs sesame oil
5 cloves garlic , minced
1/2 tbs fresh ginger , minced
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4-1/2 c soy sauce | to taste |
1 1/2 tbs gochujang | sriracha works too |
4 green onions , sliced
2 tbs toasted sesame seeds
instructions
in a large pan over medium-high heat, sear the meat with sesame oil, then add garlic and ginger. let cook for 2-3 minutes.
add brown sugar, pear purée, soy sauce, and gochujang. bring to a simmer and cover, cook on medium for 20-25 minutes. stirring occasionally to insure the sugar doesn’t burn.
when it’s ready serve with rice and green onions, garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy 😉
